My name is Michael Thorstensen. I am a photo-based digital artist living in Laguna Beach, California.  Digital art is like any other art.  It just is created using different tools than the more traditional arts.  I use my photography, along with digital brush work, color manipulation, and other digital techniques to create art that I then have produced as giclee prints on canvas.  Of course, art is not so much about the tools used to create it as it is really about the vision, message or emotion of the artist.  With my Flora Art (flowers, leaves, nature), I strive to create a sense of warmth and comfort.  And with my Custom Pet Portraits (dogs, cats, rabbits, horses), I want to make you smile, laugh and cherish them for years to come.

Michael,

   I just wanted to tell you again how beautiful the portrait of Trinket is.  I apologize for not being able to talk today but I was overcome with tears and emotion.  You really caught her finest features, the color of her fur is perfect, the almond shaped eyes and the pink nose. When I showed it to Peter he cried too.
